Cavalier won't start antitheft light is on

I have a 98 chev cavalier and it won't start. Replaced the fuel pump and it still won't start. Antitheft light is on.

Will the engine turn over? What engine and how many miles? Doe the key have a computer chip Let me know

I'm not a moderator but I had the same problem with my 97 trans am. the security light was on for a while then one day I turned the key and nothing. Not even a click. It was a wire in the ignition switch, shut down the VTD system. Just a thought. good luck.

if you leave the key to the "run" position for 10-15 mins this should shut off the security light and then maybe yo will be able to start the car...
