2005 Chevy Cavalier Car makes noise while turning left only

when I turn the car left it makes a noise and the steering wheel also acts like it makes a noise. it seems to be worse when the brake is also on. someone told me that it could be that the brakes have dirt and sand in the rear well and that could be the problem. or could it be anything else.

I just had the brakes done less than a year ago. pads and rotors
