2004 Chevy Cavalier 61,000 miles

I have a 2004 cavalier and the passsenger wiper stopped working. It seems that the piece that connects the wiper to the llinkage arm is worn or broken and when re-attached will only stay attached for a few minutes before popping off again. What is this copnnection joint called and can I get it from a parts store separately? Is it part of another piece that can easily be replaced? I'd rather not take it to the dealer if I don't have to. Thanks!

Inspect the wiper arm, it connects to the wiper assy. with a nut and the wiper assy. has splines cut into it. The wiper arm probably is stripped and must be replaced, they are generally available through autoparts stores.

If the nut is stripped then the wiper assy, would need to be replaced.

Thanks! So, is it suppose to be wiper chassis? Don't want to look like an 'assy' when I ask for that part. (-:

I can't remember the exact name it is called, even though I just put one in this past summer.

But assembly, or chassis, or transmission will get the parts guys the right idea.

Just tell them you are looking for the wiper assembly that is under the cowl, and is powered by the wiper motor and converts the rotational movement of the wiper motor to back and forth movement to activate the wiper arms.
