2002 Chevy Cavalier Headlights

One headlight is very dim on the left side, Ive changed the headlight and still have a dim headlight,The passenger side is normal though! Could the trouble be in the dimmer switch?

My 2002 Cavalier suddenly has a dim headlight on the driver side and I noticed the service engine light on. I replaced both headlights and when headlights not on the service light isn't on. Well after changing both lights, the driver side is still dim and the service light comes back on. What is the problem? Thx
