Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently had to replace my fuel pump. at the time at half a tank i would have around 250 miles on the car, and would get between 29-31mpg.

after it was replaced i noticed that i run out of gas quicker. i now have around 150 miles at half a tank and get around 26mpg.

my first thought was that i must have a fuel leak. but when i checked under my car i found no drips, no puddles. i then tried reving my engine a bit to see if maybe it leaks when i'm driving, but again i didn't see a leak anywhere.

any clue what the problem is?

Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a mechanical gauge, high fuel pressure will cause mileage to go south.
