Hi,

On my Cavalier the front right wheel squeaks.

It is in proportion to how fast I am diriving. So when I am driving really slow it goes squeak....squeak....squeak..
but when I am driving faster it goes squeaksqueaksqueak really fast.

So, I think this is a wheel bearing problem. Does that sound right? What else could it be? The noise is only coming from the right front wheel, no where else.

Also, how much could I expect to pay a local mechanic to fix it? I understand that you cant give me an exact price, but just a range so that I know I am not being completly ripped.

Thank you!!

First you need to be sure it isnt the brakes making the noise, they will be far less expensive. If it is th ebearing , the parts are about $200 or so depending if you go factory or aftermarket and it is about 1 hour of labor to change it
