1999 Chevy Cavalier clutch won't engage

hi
i have 1999 chevy cavalier and there is a problem with my clutch it won't engage untill it hits the floor and even after that i can barely put the gear in and my gear box i really stiff. Any ideas of wat is the problem and how to fix it

Sounds like you may have a hydraulic clutch. Look for a reservoir under the hood it is like the brake master cylinder but smaller. If it is empty this could be your problem. If not it may be due to the wear of the clutch and the pressure plate.
