Hello... I've started having two problems which I'm wondering if they might be related. First, about a week ago I started noticing a smell like cigarette smoke coming from the blower. It happens intermittently. No one has ever smoked in this car. Then today I cut the ignition and noticed that my rear defogger light was still on. Upon further investigation I noticed that not only is the rear defogger now staying on all the time while I'm driving but intermittently when I cut the ignition the blower keeps running. Manually turning off the blower or hitting the button for the rear defogger cuts the power to those components. Start the car up and the defogger comes on by itself. After 10 starts and stops, the blower stayed on three times after the engine was cut. Are the smell and the electrical issue related? Is something shorting out?

Have the ignition switch checked. It sounds like it going bad or shorting out.
