All the warnihg light on the dash except the service engine light stay on , the temp gauge and tach also do not seem to be working. I think the fuel gauge is working for it shows 1/4 tank.

Have the PCM scanned at any autoparts stores for free, report any codes in the computer. Also have the alt. and battery tested at the same store.

You may have a bad fuse, but the lights are on with a backup system, or you may have a bad ign switch.
Could also be a connector in the system that is shorted or open.
The scan should tell you some info, for example, if the battery light is on but the charging test is OK, then there is a problem with the warning system lights.
