Brakes problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Automatic 370456 miles

Just recently, I made a trip back to college from home and had just had my brakes checked. I got back to the school and as i was slowing down and hitting the brakess, I could just hear a rubbing noise coming from the what sounded like the front of the car. The brakes still feel the same even with the noise, what could it be?

You may have a caliper not fully releasing and rubbing against rotor.

It would be best to get brakes checked again, if rubbing continues, it could cause pads to wear and rotor to warp.

From your description, it sounds OK.

If it started smoking or you lose braking power, that would be time to stop.
