I have a 1997 chevy cavalier with about 150,000 miles.
It overheats occasionally and when it did yesterday my boyfriend turned off the car and turned the wheel to to lock it. Now my key won't turn at all, and my brake is locked as well as the gear shift. What can be the problem here?

You can check the shift interlock mechanism, the only problem, there won't be any voltage there, unless the key is on. I've been told, the people that run this site, frown on telling people how to bypass anything, even if I knew how? Could be a problem with ignition switch or lock cylinder?
