Computer problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Automatic 133000 miles
I was told that my car needed a new ECM and that it must be programmed specifically for my car. I was origionally told that injector 4 was bad and that it needed to be replaced. Now they are saying that it is a problem with the ECM. I usually do all the work to my cars but I just bought this one and I thought why not take it to someone. I still believe that if it were an ECM problem it would have shown up on the computer codes, but all that came up was that the injector was stuck open. Would there be a code if the ECM was bad only for injector 4? and Do I have to program a new ECM only at a dealer?
