I'm a owner of a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier. I have been hearing noises from the car; i ended up spending around $600 on what the machanic deemed the problem of the vehicle which was; wheel alignment, brakes and roaders along with another issue. After getting this car serviced my vehicle ended up stopping on the highway. The car was brought back to the mechanic for an analysis of the issue. I was told the car needs a timing belt. The mechanic indicated that the service to put in the timing belt was not worth fixing the vehicle as this would cost a lot of money. Can you please let me know if this vehicle is fixable and at what prices i'm I looking at to get this fixed.

Thank you.
