hi, i have a 1996 chevy caviliar with a 2.2 engine and 5 speed trans. this car has 197,000 miles and runs good with no drivability issues. now my problem. after 2,000 miles i check the oil level and find it over filled. the car is on level ground. the first thing i thought is maybe i over filled it. i let the car sit over nite with out starting it and drained the oil and checking for water in the oil. there was none. filled the engine back up with oil with only 3qts. bring the level up to to the bottom of the safe line on the dip stick. ( leaving the car 1qt low) it has been 2300 miles now and the oil level is well above the full mark. it looks like oil. no white looking snots or any thing that may indicate water. so all i can think of is gas. like i said the car runs great with out any drivability issues. so what is wrong with it?
