I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier and have replaced 3 starters in 1 year. There are missing teeth on the flywheel but sometimes the car starts and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, I can generally tap the starter while starting the ignition and it'll work. Sometimes all I have to do is turn the key after a few minutes and it'll start without having to tap the starter. Is there some way to turn the flywheel if the car doesn't start by rolling it in neutral or reverse to move the good teeth back around to the starter?
