1993 Chevy Cavalier

I have a 1993 cavalier 4 cyl. I had to replace the radiator hoses because one of them blew and after that my defroster doesn't work. There were 2 of them coming off the back of the motor and led to the firewall. If i reversed them, would that make the defroster not work, or is it something else? I took the AC/Heater part out of the dash and looks as if everything is making contact as it should. I asked my dad and he didn't know either so I thought I'd ask all the very intelligent people here. Your help is greatly appreciated.
