Starter Won't Engage.
1992 Chevrolet Cavalier manual 4 speed on the floor.
New starter. Bench tested and is good. New ignition switch. Assuming it is good. I crossed / bypassed the neutral safety switch located on the floor under the clutch pedal. Good battery. All the lights and accessories work from the ignition switch. The starter won't engage when the ignition switch is turned to the start position. However, when I cross the starter posts the starter will engage and start the car. The car runs fine. The manual shows no fuses for the start system. I'M frustrated enough to install a start button.
Any suggestions why the starter won't engage?
