1991 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 308k miles

Hey, My cavalier just stopped working today with absolutely no power coming from the battery, The battery i tested with a voltmeter it read 12.63 i was advised there is a fuse i may have to replace. Any inclination to where this fuse is and what i need to buy to replace it. Your help is greately appreciated. Thank you.

Check at the starter solenoid for the fusible link-its connected with the battery cable the smaller wires with a hump on it. Test before and after the hump with a test light

I would suspect a burnt fusible link. A fusible link is a protective device used in an electrical circuit. When the current increases beyond a certain amperage, the fusible metal of the wire link melts, thus breaking the electrical circuit and preventing further damage to other components and wiring. Whenever a fusible link is melted because of a short circuit, correct the cause before installing a new one. There are four different gauge sizes commonly used and they are usually color coded so that they may be easily installed in their original positions. Fusible links may be repaired by soldering a new link into the wire
