Hello. I live in Ohio and had to have my Z24 towed to a local mechanic. They called and said they'd have to replace the ignition switch, which I thought is a 25-30 dollar part. Anyway, I was told that with the diagnostic and labor, the repair cost will be $271 and change.

Is that a fair price for diagnostics, labor and parts? How long should the job take to replace the part? Thank you for your response.

First of all thank you so much for your donation>As far as the switch goes if you have a standard column it's 50 if you have a tilt column it's 62.Labor to put it is .9hrs time's what ever there shop rate is.So if there shop rate is 100 per hr then it would be 90 labor plus part's and tax.As far as diagnoses goes that depends on what your problem was in the first place and how long it took them to figure that out time's the shop rate for the time it took them to figure it out.So as you can see there are a few variable's there.
