1996 Chevy Caprice egr problem

I got a code p0401 for 96 caprice 5.7. Just installed a mild cam and car does not have good take off. Replaces plugs, now better performance but still lagging. Can yyou make any suggestions.

Cams and computers don't get along so well. The cam is probably causing this code to come up. It is for egr flow. Bigger cams lower vacuum and cause more intake flow etc. Now what you will need to do is a find a company like hypertech or ? and get the computer reprogrammed.
