1991 Chevy Caprice idles up on occasions

The idle goes up on occasions while driving. The cars distributor, plugs, rotor have been changed. The service engine light goes on when the car idles up but goes off when the idle returns to normal. The idle goes up for a minute or so then returns to normal while driving. I did try higher octane and fuel injector cleaner.
