I have a 1997 Z-28 camaro. It has a 5.7 motor and has 97,000 Miles on it. The car will make a ticking noise when you first start driving the car. No noise at a idle. It seems to only be noticable when the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd or from 3rd to 4th gear. If you let off of the gas it will quite and go away. Once the car is driven for a short period of lets say 2 miles the noise seems to magicly disappear. You can then through out the day stop and restart it and never once hear the noise. If the car sets. like when I'm at work and I come back and start it it is very evident agian. I have only used the recommended high occtane gas of 91 or higher. I have tried synthetic oils, slick 50, and Lucus oil additives hoping this would help it but still no luck. The car runs good oil pressure as well. Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

I'd take a look at your PCV valves. They tend to make an obnoxious tick as they age.
