[quote:6100233484="[email protected]"]Hello, just bought a 1991 Acura LS, 6 cylinder, 198,000. After buying the car, I was informed it had been in an accident with a deer. The result was front end damage, hood, headlights, bumper, all was repaired by the previous owner. The car was running great, now every time I turn on the heater or the conditioner using full auto or not, the engine will act as though it is going to die, or, surges, it does this for up to 5 minutes before adjusting itself and then it will idle normal. He had also mentioned a new heater core had been put in. I am finding more things are not working as well.

Also, it has the Bose stereo system, which just today, the radio stopped, then the original cd system in the trunk quit. Checked all fuses, the wiring looks good, what I can see anyway. I only know of the basics in any kind of engine repair, limited to what I can do physically. Could use your advice. I have already put over $1200 into it. I am afraid of getting ripped off by some of the mechanics. Would appreciate your help. Thank you, Jason[/quote:6100233484]

Find the idle air control or speed device should be somewhere within the throttle body take it out and clean real good. could also be the PCM when it engages the compressor it should control the idle speed to compensate the AC load on the engine.

You can try needle nose pliers, and twist it tell it breaks free, then pull...
