Bad egr valve....dealer trying to hose me???

I recently brought my 95 camaro (3.4 v6) into the dealer. He is saying that he had to take apart my moter to replace my egr valve and wants to charge me $460!!!!...............doesnt the egr valve just bolt onto the back of the manifold?? need help please.

The valve is pricy, but check aftermarket. Should only take about a half hour to do. Maybe the service writer didn't know any better about it's whereabous, or mis-communicated. PRice sounds about right from the dealer.
