I have a 68 327 engine from a 68 Camaro.
It has lots of Valve noise. I want to remove the cam and Lifters. It has been some time since I worked on Chevy Smallblocks. My lifters do not come out easily. I thought they pulled right out. Is there tool needed?

Sometimes they can be a pain. I ussualy take and spray them with some wd-40 or carb cleaner and just work them up and down till they come out. I use a pic with an angled end on it...

Cly

Thanks
I thought that might be the case, I tried a small angled pick, but did not want to force them.

I'd be nice if you can change the head to 202 camel, you're bringing back memories with my 74 Vega

It would be nice to change it, but is my wife's car. She bought it from the grandson of a "little old lady in Fresno" it is totaly original ,except for paint, all items are matching, numbers, colors, panels, u name it, it is original, it has just ben neglected over the last several years. with a little work it could be quite a ride. It will not be a show stopper, but it is a classic.
