Transmission problem
2000 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65k miles

My Camaro leaves a sizeable drop or two of transmission fluid on garage floor overnight. What could be the problem?

If youve had the tranny serviced at all, it could be a lose tranny pan. If not....you should drop the pan, change the filter, install a new gasket and tighten all the bolts to 144 in. lbs I believe. Also you should get a rubber gasket. The cork ones are trash if ya ask me but thats just my opinion. I think the rubber ones are much easier to work with and wont tear.

Also check the lines running to your radiator or transmission fluid cooling system. Maybe its leaking there. If so, check to make sure theyre tight. Hope this helps.

Hello,

Were does it look like it is leaking.... from bell housing area were engine and tranny meet, if so could be front pump seal or tranny pan gasket. if looks like it leak farther back could be rear seal were drive shaft enters tranny. I fleaking at front of vehicle most likely tranny lines going into the radiator or somewhere in the line itself.
