1998 Chevy Camaro Car Vibrating

Ok so your car shakes but you said it shakes at idle. So if I understand correctly when the car is not moving and it just at idle you can still feel it shake? Get back to me so I can try to help.

I hear a slight vibration when the car is on. Today I went to Discount tire to have it looked at. They said I have 3 bad rims because there's a hop, as far as the slugging my pressures were all off. I just to be 100% sure because I forgot to indicate my wheel feels stiff as wheel. Would 3 bad rims cause this serious vibration, since he showed me the wheels hoping on the balancer. Or am I getting ripped off like Tire Kingdom had me spend 100's claiming the issue were tires. Thanks for your help

A bent rim moves from side to side not up and down. That usually indicates a bad tire not rim but to be sure ask them to break the tire down and rotate it 180 degrees on the rim and see if the movement changes if it does it is the tires not rims. To answer the question yes it can cause bad vibrations either way.

How can my rims bend or hve any dmage from 1 caliper letting lose. I looked up bent rims and read in order for them to bend it's usually done by a hard impct on the tires. Before I started having this vibration issue I had a tire blow out and then my breaks locking down from the caliper. Before I spend any money on rims this Saturday, my question is could the issue I indicated cause a rim to bend. I'm not sure of the movement going up and down or side to side he just showed me the tire on the machine said the rtire was hoping while in the rims thus leading to to much movement causing the vibration. After all thes issues I had I just started becoming a little distrustful since I given more money then what I purchased for repairs. What can cause bent rims as well?I am aware that some damage on the rims is not visible!

OK to answer yo question yes it could cause 1 bent rim if you hit a hole or something as the tire went flat. However with what you discribe I don't think that is the problem I beleive it is tires. So have them break down the tires and turn the ones that have up and down movement 180 degrees on the rim if this minimizes the movement you got defective tires. Let me know what you find.

I just got back from having my rims replaced. It was shipped from another location and one rim came already bent so I have 3 new one's and one still very bad one. There still is a a shake not as bad as before but there is still vibration coming from underneath me. I'm a little frustrated because I've already spent $1400 just to still have a shake and can't identify the problem. I called Chevy and they said they have to do a diagnostic for $95 to see its the engine or something. I'm really unsure what to do now because I thought the replacement woulld stop the vibration but it did not.

Ok so you said you have a vibration at idle? That is not rims or tires at that point. If it will vibrate when not moving then I would check plugs and wires.

what wire and plugs should I check in particular. I just want this vibration to go away!

You said that it is vibrating at idle when it is not moving correct? If this is so then that is not from the tire blow out so I would check the spark plugs and spark plug wires. If you don't know when the spark plugs were replaced last then it may not be a bad idea to replace them.

Last evening I took my car for an oil change at walmart. I dont know if what they are saying are true because they arent technicians but the guy said i had transmission fluid leaking. He said the color was pink. Now I know that advance auto told me previously of power steering fluid and my wheel does feel a little stiff. I also one day out of curiosity tmoved the car to touch the fluids and it was greasy. MY question is would the transmission leak, if it is right have anything to do with the vibration? Is it expensive to repair?

Ok pink fluid leaking is either power steering or transmisison. As for expense depends on why it is leaking. As for causing vibration I don't think it would cause that. Have you checked the spark plugs, air filter and such yet?
