Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I have a 98' camaro v6 automatic.
and they starter just gave out.
so i bought a brand new one.
when we got it, it looked a bit smaller than the original.
but autozone said that was normal.
so after installing, we go to connect the battery, and as soon as we connect it..... the stater engages!
and there aren't even any keys in the ignition... and the ignition if turn all the way off!
i called my uncle, he said the new stater might have the wiring crossed. so he said try switching the solenoid wire attached to it too the other post where i was 1st putting the red hot wire to.
but i dont think theres enough wire to connect it to the other post.
- what should i do????
(connect some extra wire so that it can reach to the other post)????
- or is there something else wrong ?????
FYI. it wasn't doing it before with the old starter. why is it doing it with this NEW stater????
