1996 Chevy Camaro Camaro starts to knock like the transmiss

I have an automatic 1996 Camaro and when im driving on the highway after about 30mins the car starts to knock every time the car shifts. I feel a raise in the center console and it feels as if something may be broken. Does anyone know what this may be?
