i was driving my car the other day andthe car started running hot. then cold then hot. it went up and down.i cecked the coolant it was down a little bit . i added more. then it was fine. now i have drove it about 20 miles and it started getting hot then cold. up and down again. then i noticed white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. what is wrong. i have parked it and getting ready to change the thermostate. is this the problem?
