MY 1994 Chevrolet Camaro runs hot when sitting idle. When you stop at drive thru etc.. Gages will then cool when driving down the road. Could this be a thermostat problem?

sounds like you need to pressure flush your cooling system- new thermostat -check if fans turn on right.with motor running turn on your air conditionar and fans should turn on sometimes take a little while but they must turn on with ac.with those high miles possibly your radiator needs good cleaning by a shop.they tend to build up grime or rust n such.good luck
