1994 Chevy Camaro my car gets to hot

Could be a clogged radiator or defective water pump-could also be air in the system if all checks out-get it block and pressure tested.

Step 1 normally would be to see if the car is really running hot. Because of the high compression, the LT1 runs a bit cooler than most - to avoid detonation. A non-contact thermometer will tell you in an instant. You can also scan the computer to see what temperature the computer thinks the engine is at.

If you haven't had the coolant system flushed in a while, you might consider this option as well. On the Camaro I would flush the heater core separately (notorious for collecting junk). The quick oil change places usually offer this service. Just make sure they open the bleed valves when filling the system.

All the above assumes also no damage to the lower skirt of the car. The small opening in the front of the car means the car gets most of its cooling air from under the car. That skirt has to be there (at least mostly there - darn low car....)
