1991 Chevy Camaro car running rough through certain rpm's

Has the check engine light come on? Does it make the noise in all gears at that RPM?

No the check engine light has not come on. Yes it does run rough in all gears at that rpm range.

I'm glad you found that one before something bad happened. As far as the rough engine, has the car been tuned up reciently? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? It could even have to do with fuel pressure. Have you checked that? DO you need directions for it?

Yea that wouldn't have been good. My camaro has only had plugs and wires done and an ignition switch replaced. It has been having trouble starting lately, too. I have not checked for vaccum leaks or a possible fuel pressure problem. I went to start it today but it wouldn't even click or try to turn over. When I do get it going I will check both for vaccum leaks and fuel pressure. I'm not a mechanic by any means; what would it cost to have that ckecked out or how easy is it to ckeck myself?

Actually, if you have a volt meter, you can check it yourself. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for 12 volts to the smaller wire going to the starter. If you are getting 12 volts, then chances are the starter is bad. If there is no power to the starter, then move to the starter relay.
