I have a 1984 Chevy Camaro V6 2.8, that is hard to start, especially on cold mornings. When I start the car it will start up right away and then will shut off almost right away. I crank it again and I have to put the gas to the floor and hold it to get the car to start. The car will shake and wobble and tons of smoke will come out of the exhaust. After it starts I need to maintain the gas peddle about 1/4 down to keep it running, it takes about 5 minutes until I can let my foot off the gas.

I just recented had the carburetor repaired and it worked fine for a little while. I checked all the vacuum tubes and I increased the idol, now it goes through a tank of gas alot faster and starts up a little better at times. When cold outside or I don't run the car for a day, it becomes hard to start again.

Hi

The 1987 Chevrolet Camaro with a 6-cylinder engine did not come with a carburetor. I would pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator to see if gas is present and if so replace the regulator because it is bad. This guide can help as well

Please go over this guide and get back to us.

I have been unable to find a picture to see where all the vacuum lines connect. The sticker on the car is degraded and hard to read. Plus I have a hose that is not connected to anything and not plugged and another item that does not have a hose connected at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
