Engine Mechanical problem
1985 Sunrunner Boat V8

Ok my problem is actually with a boat engine it is a 1985 Sunrunner that has a small block chevy engine. The specific's are as follows. Merch crusier 260 with a thunderbolt electronic ignition. My problem is as follows the other day I went out to do a tune up on my boat I replaced the following parts Cap, Rotor, Plug wires. I did not do the plugs because I could not get to them and did not want to take even more things apart. So I did that and tryed to start the engine up and all I got was cranking. So I thought ok maybe I got something crossed with the fireing order, nope thats fine. So then I thought maybe the coil went out so I went and bought a new one. Installed it and tried to start the engine again and got the same responce just cranking. I looked over all the electrical wires in the engine capartment and they all look just fine. I then went down and bought a spark tester hocked it up to the coil and cranked the engine and no spark, hooked the old coil up and tried again with same results. I checked the plug wires from each plug and still got the same results no spark. I would also like to add that all the replacement parts were ordered online for this engine with this ignition system. So now that it has my head spinning I am seeking help online. I hope I have given enough info on my problem and the things that I have tried. Any help in this matter would really be nice at this point. Thank you

If you're sure that you didn't make a mistake in the wiring, then I'd say the "Ignition Control Module" is faulty, or you accidentally fried it.

But instead of replacing parts and hoping to hit the jack-pot, disassemble the ignition components again, then take them to your local parts store and ask them to check each one until you eliminate the faulty part.
