Try to crank it over and it sounds right but just never ignites?

Try to crank it over and it sounds right but just never ignites. Weird thing is the tach spins almost all the way around. This has happened lbefore. Last year my mechanic replaced the starter motor with a "high performance" model from Summit. It fixed the issue, but I would expect a starter motor to last more than a year. I figure it may have just been a band aid on the issue.

Battery has a good charge.

Everything sounds good.

Could it be just a starter motor issue? What starter should I go with? It's the original 350 ci

Maybe weak spark or something along those lines?

ETA: I read the topic right below on the 89 Camaro and think we have different issues.

I would start by checking for spark because it sounds like the coil is bad, here is a video that will help you check for spark safety.
