I just got this car recently everything was working fine first day then second day comes around and the night with it and the low beams(headlights) or the brake lights dont work. the fender lights and the turn signal lights are on but and so is the intrument panel but nothing else the blinkers wont flash and the brake lights wont turn on depressed or not. i checked the fuses all are good, voltage of battery, alternator good. changed sockets and bulbs of brakelights still nothing am at a loss here.

being a brit car owner i only thought we had these problems lol. try disconnecting the dimmer switch on the floor for the headlights as they get corroded. see if your headlights come on then. If not then you may have a wiring problem. Your brakelight problem could be a turn signal switch. see if you have power going to your switch and out. If you do follow it up to your turn sig switch. Also check to see if you hazrd flashers work, if they do that eliminates a lot of things. Your turn sinal problem could also be a bad flasher, make sure you get the right one, there are two, one for the hazard and one for turn signals. This also maybe a wiring issue as well.

you hit the nail on the head as far as the dimmer switch goes i lifted the connection the other day and it was fried. as far as the brake lights it was just a bad connection between the brake light switch. and a bad contact in one socket. everything just went out at the same time so thought it couldnt have been so simple. thank you for the reply.
