I had two shops look at my Blazer, the 1st one said I needed a new water pump, the second said, no I needed a new intake. I went with the second one, but a few days later the Blazer was leaking again. They now said yes you need a new water pump and the reason was because when you replace the intake it sometimes makes the water pump go bad. Are they correct?

I have a 97 Chevy Blazer, 4wheel drive, 89,000 miles.

Thank you.

the water pump connects to the block, I don't see how a new intake manifold would make the water pump go bad.
