92 S10 Blazer ESC (electronic spark) Module & code 43 he

1. Make and Model of your Car-92 Chevy S10 Blazer-Multiport Fuel Injected-4.3L Vortec, 4 door.
2. Include the mileage-198,960
3. Stick Shift or Automatic Transmission-Automatic
4. 2 or 4 wheel drive-2WD
5. Strange sounds-Idling rough, engine surgine on idle with any gear, dying when slowing, stopping, or idling, no power when accelerating.
6. Fluid leaks-none
7. Past repair history if applicable-Had 2 thrown rod bearings when I bought this vehicle. Wasn't running, so I don't know how it performed before rebuild. I did a Complete engine overhaul at 196,645 miles. All parts I replaced and are new: starter, battery, alternator, belt, tpi sensor, oil pump, transmission filter, air filter, distributor cap with rotor, plugs, wires, oil filter, pulley tensioner, AC clutch. After rebuild, check engine light was on. Code read Throttle position sensor. I replaced it and still the check engine light came back on after reset. Ran fine until pulley tensioner messed up and burned up the alternator and starter. I replaced both. Check engine light stayed on and it gives me a code 43. Ran rough, surged during idle in any gear, and died when slowing to a stop (hot or cold, it would die). I found a loose connection to the knock sensor and fixed it, making it run much better. Code is giving me "esc (electronic spark control) module". I can't find this module or a picture of it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can locate this sensor on my specific vehicle. Chilton was no help! I also need a picture of specific module. It is not on the firewall above the distributor or around it. Also, highway driving calculates to 10.8MPG. Is this right for this vehicle or should it be more? Any way to improve this? Any other suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks.

The vortec is a sweet motor, but plaged with problems in the fuel injection. The little poppit valves that go into the ports sometimes clog and cause rough idle, hence no fuel to that cylinder. Try swapping out the control module or check your wire connector at the distributor going to the module.

Mitchell1 says 4.3L Z/W engines is at the center of the firewall right besides the fuel pump test connector. Unless yours is modified somewhere.

Also check the EGR could be clogging up-I got a 93 bravada 4.3 Vortec CPI that's doing that crazy idle and stalling turns out that the EGR is clogged.
