I am having a problem putting gas in the car. The pump keeps shutting off. I spoke to the guys that change the oil and he said it was an electrical problem within the fuel system itself. A selenoid or something?
Can you help?

The fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor is what causes the fuel nozzle at stations to shut off. When the sensor senses too much pressure in the tank because of the fuel being added it automatically shuts the nozzle off. If the sensor malfunctions it will cause the nozzle to shut off prematurely. The FTP sensor is located on top of the fuel tank.
