I have a 2000 S10 Chevy Blazer with 113000 miles on it. It’s a 2-wheel drive with an automatic transmission and V6 engine.
In the morning when the outdoor temperature is below 70° or if the engine has been off for more than 24-hours, I hear a chirping noise at the front of the engine when I turn it on. The chirping noise sounds like crickets. This noise lasts until the engine temperature reaches its normal 210°.
The chirping noise started almost 2 years ago when I hit a big water puddle during a rain storm. I received advice to spray the fan belt with a silicone based belt spray. It helps for a few days but then the chirping noise returns.
What can I do to stop the noise permanently?
