Dropped my car off for service this am to shop where I have been before. They iinstalled all new front and rear rotors and brakes in 2005 and new pads in 2006. At that point the car had 25,000 miles on it. When they called me this am said rear brakes and rotors needed replacing and under their warranty but the front brakes and rotors where brand new looking and no longer under warranted because they could not have worn like this. I must of had the front replaced somewhere else. I told the repair shop they are the ones their shop put in. The gentlemen just kept telling me impossible, they would not look brand new like this and have the rear ones be worn out. He did say the front rotors were warped and he would shave them as a favor. Is there anything that could of caused this because the brakes were all warrantied by them and have never been replaced or repaired anywhere else. Could something else be wrong with the car? Are their any identifiers on the rotors or pads to tell if they are from this shop?

brakes are dependent on a lot of things. They could have put on cheap rotors with semi metallic pads. Or you could have the calipers stick and not releasing. Usually the only identifiers on rotors are mininum thickness and not much else. Alot of it also depends on your type/style of driving. Hardere type driving or heavy loads wil put more reliance on the rear brakes. Most of your braking is on the front brakes and not the rear..
