2000 Chevy Blazer head gasket

i blew my head gasket on my 2000 chevy blazer, and am in he process of finding someone to fix it. When i priced the parts online the were not over 100 and when i found someone to fix it they quoted me 850-900 includes all except if the head needs to be sent of to machine shop. Want to know the avg price for such a job?

That sounds like a fair price for my area. The shops will normally mark up the parts prices so they can make some money on them too. This helps them to stay in business. It also allows them to warranty their work.
