Just purchased this vehicle. While driving 70mph heard a loud whining noise. While slowing down, the whining sound also slowed with the vehicle speed. As I stopped, it got lower and lower. After a complete stop I heard a slight thud.

Is it something in my hubs, or transmission or transfer case?

Please help me.

1) Yes, it is electric 4WD
2) Noise does not change when turning left to right
3) Yes, the noise changes when going on and off the gas. It get louder when you let up on the gas and quieter as you accelerate.

ok. sounds like your rear end pinion and or pinion bearings are bad. your rear end will probably need to be rebuilt. it can be checked by trying to move the driveshaft up and down where it connects to rear end. if it moves up and down at all then it definately needs rebuilding. hope this helps
