I just got my Blazer and this is my first 4WD vehicle... The other day it snowed and without knowing any better I hit the 4-Hi button without stopping and putting the vehicle in neutral.. Seemingly nothing happened, but I was reading this morning that you have to stop the vehicle and put it in neutral before putting it in 4WD.. I guess my question is, what is the potential damage I have caused, and should I take it into a mechanic before it gets worse? The Blazer is not making any weird noises, or driving funny.. and I only put it in 4-hi twice without stopping and putting it in neutral.

i wouldnt worry to much about it just as long you dont do it again. make sure the vehicle is stopped when you do it. some people say its ok to do it, but i think you should be stopped when you engauge it
