Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I just installed a totally rebuilt 4.3 vortex v6 engine, I proud to say it runs great, no noises, no leaks, great oil pressure and coolant. Now the prblem is the oil smoke out the tailpipe. I have followed the breakin procedures per the manual, driven it about 100 miles now, and when sitting at idle, at start up, and driving at slower speeds it smokes alot. I understand oil consumption during this time, but this much smoke does not seems normal to me at all. At hwy speeds it seems to not smoke, but when I slow down it begins again. Any ideas what to check or do now to fix this issue?

The only way to tell is to get an engine compression and cylinder leakage tests to ID the problem.
