1998 Chevy Truck S10/T10 Blazer 4WD V6-4.3L VIN W 198k
Began to be hard starting. Sometimes would have to use starting fluid, then ran fine. Became harder to start and required starting fluid almost all the time.
Replaced fuel filter, no improvement. Replaced pressure regulater under intake, no improvement.
Finally wouldn't run except with starting fluid.
Checked fuel pressure, 40 - 46 lbs. Decided it was the fuel pump which had been replaced 1 year ago. With new fuel pump the fuel pressure is 48 lbs, holds 45-46 lbs after 15 minutes.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a bad fuel pressure regulator. You should see 57-58 pounds of pressure with a good one. It isn't hard to change.
