1998 Chevy Blazer brake lights staying on and now problem w

Initially the brake lights would not go off...after checking the switch, accidentally pushed too hard on the brake pedal and it seems like the plunger needs to be reset. Light is still on but there is a lot of play in the brake pedal. what do I need to do now?

IS the brake light switch adjusted properly? Check that first, they ususally back out of adjustment an dstay on. The pedal play, might want to remove the master cylinder and see if the plunger is returning, there isnt much to damage as far as pedal play goes. Does it have the play with the engine running?
