Hi cotton3017. Welcome to the forum. You'll need to crawl over the rear seats to remove the lower trim panel on the tail gate. As I recall, there may be some screws that can't be removed. My friend broke the panel by some screw holes but I don't remember if that was carelessness or necessity.

Once that panel is removed, there is a rectangular hole in the center that you can reach through with your fingers. Look for a gold-colored metal lever that has two arms on it. Rotate it counter-clockwise as you're facing it until it makes contact with the latch mechanism, then continue pushing it in the same direction, to your left, until it pops. That will open the window. Then you can open the gate like normal.

In keeping with normal quality of the parts on late model cars, the electric popper is made of plastic, and, well, . . . it broke. You will hear it actuate but nothing happens. That solenoid is what needs to be replaced.
