My mother had a 1996 chevy blazer , and one day we checked the oil and it was a white color , my mom did not know why it was that color. The next day we took it to the penzoil fast oil change and we asked why is it that color , the penzoil guysaid it was water in the oil. When we were driving back from a long highway trip ,the engine started to over heat a little so then we turned on the heat and rolled down the windows. After doing that like aprox 2 minutes the engine started to make funny noises and started to smell like burning oil , then the engine finally locked up. It was smoking (burning oil). Well then i put on a new head gasket and put new oil in it, then i finally started it up , but it sounded really bad making (backfiring like noises). Well my question is ,what is the problem? I want to rebuild it or fix it but i dont know what to start off with (like as in a new block or something).
